No, we’re not talking about adding a couple slices of bacon or dare we say a fried egg to your burger, we’re talking full out burger on a donut crazy. So if you’re looking for a little adventure the next time you eat out, you want to know where to get started. Right?

It’s All About the Beef

Or is it? The Angus beef patty is the burger of choice for most Americans. Smother it with cheese and ketchup and most diners will be happy. But these days we have so much variety to choose from. Rather than straight out ground chuck, why don’t you mix it up by adding some brisket? Or ditch the beef and try a different meat altogether. A turkey burger is a delicious choice if you are looking for something a little lighter on the waistline. Still not adventurous enough? Try a delicious elk burger. Go big or go home right? For the best tasting and healthiest meats, be sure to buy organic.

Sauce it Up

You can’t have a good burger without having to wipe away the sauce dripping down your chin. Ketchup and mustard are the norms but they’re also incredibly boring. Add some heat to your burger and try a chipotle mayo. Or how about sriracha, that goes on everything right? A hearty Angus burger would pair perfectly with a horseradish cream. And tzatziki would be perfect on your lamb burger. Feeling really wild? Make yourself a taco burger by adding some sour cream and Tabasco. You only live once, right?

Ditch the Plain Bun

You probably thought we were crazy when we suggested putting your burger on a donut, but believe it or not, this one is delicious. So much so that we feature it prominently on our own menu. A lettuce wrap is a healthy option, but that’s not the excitement you’re looking for. But if the healthy approach to a bun is what you are looking for, grilled eggplant or portobello mushrooms are tasty alternatives to the bun.

Have Fun With Your Toppings

Onion rings? Done that! Jalapenos? Getting closer. Mac and cheese? Stop right there, now you’re talking. Boring toppings are history. We say go crazy! How about kimchee or radishes. Or how about apples and brie? Try a pizza burger by adding pepperoni, olives, and mozzarella. And speaking of cheese– you don’t have to go predictable here either. Gouda, bleu cheese, and muenster all make delicious compliments to your burger.

Don’t Forget the Sides

While the star of the show is the burger, who goes out and orders a cheeseburger without a side of fries? Here is not the time to go lax. Instead of regular old french fries, do a sweet potato fry instead. Not different enough you say? How about zucchini fries or fried onion strings with jalapeno nickles. And who says your fries have to be eaten on the side? Throw those babies straight on the burger to truly wow your taste buds.
